We are so excited to bring you this beautiful Geisha (or Gesha) coffee from our friends in Costa Rica.
What is Gesha coffee you ask? Gesha coffee is a varietal of arabica coffee originally from the Gesha region of Ethiopia. This varietal has produced some the most outstanding coffee in the world over the past 14 years. The most expensive coffee ever bought at auction was a Gesha in 2019. It sold for $1029 per pound green / $2522 per pound roasted.
Traveling towards the Poas Volcano, and thru the small bustling town of Grecia, sugar cane fields lead the way to the mountains where coffee is king. El Greco, has been in the Oviedo family for over 50 years, today, Rodrigo, a third generation coffee farmer is determined to produce microlots under his artisan process which produce a unique cup that will warm your soul.
Rodrigo’s father valued education and taught Rodrigo and his siblings the importance of school and coffee farming from a young age. Rodrigo introduced a more sustainable business model to the family farm. Café Greco produces a special coffee nurtured with care and processed with traceability and quality.
